Fujifilm Invests US$ 28 million for inkjet pigment dispersion

  Fujifilm Imaging Colorants, an experienced inkjet ink technology partner to equipment manufacturers, integrators and ink formulators, today announced that it will invest US$ 28 million to add a new facility in New Castle, Delaware for the production of aqueous inkjet dispersions. The investment will double Fujifilm’s production capacity of pigment dispersions in the US to cater to the fast-growing demand for inkjet printing globally. Construction of the new facility, which adds 11,000 square feet of plant to the Delaware site, began in March 2022 and is expected to be operational by summer 2023. To support the increase in manufacturing output across the site, Fujifilm Imaging Colorants is adding 30 positions in quality, engineering, production, and administrative roles by the end of 2023. Zubaan-Prabha Khaitan Foundation Translation Series

  A collaboration between Zubaan , the noted feminist publishing house based in New Delhi, and the Kolkata-based Prabha Khaitan Foundation has launched a translation project to unlock some of the publisher’s content into several Indian languages simultaneously. The project called the Zubaan-Prabha Khaitan Foundation Translation Series brings financial support for translating numerous Zubaan titles on offer to publishers of Indian language books. Named after the late Hindi writer Prabha Khaitan, the Foundation organizes literary and cultural activities and publishes the monthly, Prabha . It has thus far provided a grant to Zubaan for the first year which will be used mainly for offering support to publishers for translation while the costs of publishing and distribution will be borne by the publishers. INMA announces launch of 'Subscription Benchmarking Service'

  The International News Media Association (INMA) on 17 March 2022 announced the launch of a new digital subscription performance benchmarking service for news media companies following a successful six-month pilot. INMA’s Subscription Benchmarking Service is designed as an international peer-to-peer exchange, promising an active benchmarking community and featuring data-rich dashboards with actionable insights and personalized subscription best practices. The paid-for service is available to INMA’s corporate members who publish at least one online news service. Publishers are not locked into any hardware, software, or consulting agreements, and may submit several brands at no additional charge. The pilot was conducted with 102 national and regional news brands from 30 companies in 19 countries. Post-print lamination at Dharavi’s One to One Creations

  One to One Creations, based in the bustling economic hub of Dharavi, offers print solutions to garment manufacturers with manufacturing units in the area. It prints photos for kidswear makers who use those photos as identifiers or promotional tools on their packages. The company recently installed an HRL 14 thermal lamination machine from Hi-Tech Systems . The thermal lamination machine is used to enhance the prints it produces on a Konica Minolta digital press. “The photos that we print on the Konica Minolta digital press go to the thermal lamination machine that has been provided by Hi-Tech. The prints get the required gloss and their attractiveness at the point of sale is enhanced. Avery Dennison acquires Catchpoint

  Avery Dennison on 17 March 2022 announced it has acquired the linerless label technology developed by Catchpoint, a UK company based in Yorkshire, England. The purchase covers Catchpoint's patents, brand, trade secrets and know-how. Arrangements have been made to ensure the continued support of the Catchpoint team. Radhika Shukla offers insight into the TOI+ business model

  Subscription to TOI+ gives you access to premium articles and an ad-lite experience for one year on the Times of India website, Android, and IOS apps. Radhika Shukla, head of subscription growth, strategy, and analytics, TOI+ and Newspoint, explained the subscription revenue and data-driven customer journey at TOI+ in detail during the Wan-Ifra Digital Media India 2022. Shukla said that the TOI+ model is a little different from other premium services offered in the market. JLF’s first outing after Covid-19

  The 15th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) , is hybridly taking place at Clarks Amer, including an on-ground event from 10 to 14 March 2022. The new venue was chosen in accordance with the Rajasthan government’s latest Covid-19 norms and allows for appropriate social distancing measures in view of the pandemic situation. Sahitya Akademi award to Namita Gokhale

    The Sahitya Akademi presented the award in the English category to Namita Gokhale for her 2016 novel Things To Leave Behind at its Festival of Letters 2022 held in New Delhi on 11 March 2022. Due to the ongoing Jaipur Literature Festival, of which Namita Gokhale is the co-founder and festival director, she was unable to attend the award ceremony. The prize was accepted on her behalf by her niece. Speaking on the occasion, Gokhale says, “Being awarded the Sahitya Akademi award is possibly the most meaningful honor I’ve ever received. The Sahitya Akademi does inspirational work in keeping alive the diverse legacy of Indian languages.
