  On 9 September, Rajoo Engineers unveiled its Pentafoil five-layer co-extruded blown film line during an open house. The one-day event, held at Rajoo’s manufacturing unit about 30 minutes from Rajkot city, was attended by more than 150 packaging converters from across the country.  The Pentafoil can produce up to 700-750 kilograms of film per hour with a maximum film width of 2,500 mm from a 550 mm die. The 5-layer blown film line can run at a maximum line speed of 150 meters per minute.  “The thought behind developing the Pentalfoil was to cater to customers who want to upgrade their technological capabilities and enhance their output and productivity levels. We have integrated the best components and used our engineering prowess to offer this world-class product. The Pentafoil puts us in the league of the best in the world.   A pioneer in digital printing, at the recent Gartex show in Delhi, Arrow Digital spoke about the Kornit Avalanche Poly Pro and EFI dye sublimation printers garment printing. The Kornit Avalanche Poly Pro is specially designed for dark polyester printing. Its specialty is ink that is specially designed for printing on dark polyester and for curing at very low temperatures. This ink helps to avoid dye migration on polyester but is slightly more expensive than other inks.  The EFI Fabri VU 340i+ is a dye sublimation printer mainly aimed at home furnishing and soft signage, with its first installation at Caterpillar Signs . A big advantage of this machine is its inbuilt curing system.   As of 1 September 2022, Deepak Walia joins Manroland Sheetfed India as its new managing director based in the New Delhi. Manroland Sheetfed India is the wholly owned subsidiary of Manroland Sheetfed , the German manufacturer of offset presses based in Offenbach Germany and owned by the UK based Langley Holdings. According to a press release, Deepak Walia takes over from "Neeraj Dargan who is moving on to his next chapter with sincere thanks and best wishes from the Manroland family." Dargan established the India subsidiary in 2014 to start Manroland’s own operations in the territory.   Onyx Graphics , a leading provider of software solutions for the digital inkjet wide-format print industry, has announced the availability of new Onyx profiles for Mimaki printers, including the UCJV300, JV300-160 Plus, and the CJV300-150 Plus. The new profiles cover four-color, eight-color, and specialty ink configurations across a lengthy list of media types, including adhesive vinyl, banner, canvas photo paper, backlit and clear.  The new profiles are available now with Onyx 22 and are compatible with Onyx 21.1 and Onyx 21.   As Jayant Sinha wrote in the 31 August edition of the Business Standard , market-driven approaches to net zero emissions will be good for India. Sinha wrote, “Most Indians worry that decarbonization will impede the country’s development. They believe that coal-based energy cannot be replaced by solar, electric cars are too expensive, and people will not switch from animal to plant proteins. Simply put, they consider low-carbon emissions (green) technologies to be worse than high-carbon, fossil-fuel based (brown) technologies.” One could add that the packaging industry views recyclable packaging and the cost of sorting and recycling in the same negative way.  However, Sinha goes on to say, “But what if this is wrong?
